Friends of the Palo Alto Parks is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.  All donations are tax-deductible. To date, we have had many successes. Proud accomplishments include:

•Working with the City of Palo Alto and the Heritage Park Playground LLC to develop Palo Alto's newest park and children's play area

•Funding an educational history display at Juana Briones Park

•Assisting Friends of Foothills Park (www.friendsoffoothillspark.org) in securing a $25,000 grant from the Packard Foundation to recruit new and enthusiastic members

•Assisting in fundraising to refurbish the clubhouse at the Lawn Bowling Green (www.palbc.org)

•Spearheading the effort to revise the Palo Alto Historical Association’s publication Parks of Palo Alto

•Sponsoring what will be a new kind of playground in Palo Alto, one where everyone can play — bridging the gap between those with and without special needs in our community. It is currently being called "The Magical Bridge" (www.magicalbridge.org)

•Receiving grants of $10,000 from the Palo Alto Community Fund and $10,000 from the Palo Alto Rotary Club to complete the interpretive exhibits at the Gateway Nature Center at the Pearson Arastradero Preserve

•Receiving Palo Alto’s Community Star Award in 2005

•Raising funds for a bench at Eleanor Pardee Park

•Working with the ciy of Palo Alto's Parks Department, local Kiwanis, Rotary, and neighborhood groups to add color to older neighborhood and community parks

•Co-sponsoring (with the Palo Alto Downtown Association) the public/private partnership that renovated and revitalized Lytton Plaza Park
